Legalisation
The Consular Section of the Mozambique High Commission legalises documents emanating from a British Public or Private entity within the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland meant to produce legal effect in the Republic of Mozambique.
Mozambican Nationals, British subjects and all other foreigners requiring this service should follow the following steps:
Firstly, it is necessary to authenticate the document(s) in a British Public Notary Office.
Secondly, the document should be taken for Attestation to the Legalisation Department of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
Only after the above indicated steps should the document(s) be finally presented to the Consular Section of the Mozambique High Commission, which in turn, will be able to certify that it is indeed a document produced in the UK, duly notarised and properly attested by the FCO.
This service provision requires 3 working days and incurs a £20.00 (Twenty Pounds Sterling) charge. If required within 24hours the charge will be £25.00 (Twenty Five Pounds Sterling).
When payment for services is made by cheque; they should be crossed and made payable to: Mozambique High Commission .
